The M114A1 was an American 155 mm towed howitzer used for artillery support of infantry. The weapon was deployed into a firing position by spreading the carriage trails and served in the US Army for many years, including during the conflict in Southeast Asia.
With artillery models it is advisable to assemble the carriage and the trail mechanism carefully, so that the model stands stably in the firing position. Thin cement for plastic, a primer undercoat and an airbrush all work well. The model can be completed with washes and pigments for dust effects and set into a diorama with a gun crew.
