AFV Club - T-49 tracks, M4 Sherman VVSS, 1:35

This is a set of individual track links in 1:35 scale, an accessory and not a whole model. The T-49 tracks with transverse bars, the bar or chevron pattern, are among the widespread types used on M4 Sherman medium tanks with the vertical volute spring suspension VVSS. The set replaces the tracks from the box with a truer rendering and is meant to be fitted to a finished chassis.

Assembly and use

  • The tracks are made up of individual links: each link is joined separately.
  • Build in longer sections and let the glue flash off before shaping.
  • Form a realistic sag while seating them on the rollers and the road wheels.
  • They raise the fidelity of the running gear over the tracks supplied in the base kit.

Painting and patina tips

  • Paint and weather the tracks before fitting them to the model.
  • A dark base, metallic dry-brushing on the contact faces of the bars and pigments for dust and mud.
