The interior of the Wespe howitzer in 1:35 scale fills the open fighting compartment with racks, a radio set and ammunition bins. The model of the vehicle is sold separately. Target kit: Tamiya.
Responsibility details are not available.
On the Wespe the interior is visible at first glance: the fighting compartment is open at the top, so every simplified detail is glaring. This set from the Italian brand Royal Model combines resin castings with etched metal and offers racks, a radio set and bins for rounds and flares. It is aimed at the well-known kit in this scale, which you obtain separately. The etched fret is prepared for the Tamiya kit.
The Wespe came about by converting the chassis of the light Panzer II tank, onto which a 105 mm howitzer was set in an open superstructure. It was built from 1943 and served with the artillery battalions of the armored divisions, where it was to provide quickly movable fire support. The open superstructure gave the crew a view but minimal protection.
It pays to work in stages: first assemble and paint the floor and the superstructure sides, and only then seat the brackets and the bins. A light base brightens the deep fighting compartment, while a dark wash brings out the rivets and the bracing. Bend the photo-etched parts with a bending tool or on a razor blade and fix them with spots of cyanoacrylate, so that it does not run onto a visible surface.
Paints, glue and a base kit are not enclosed.
