Border Model cemented carbide line engraver 1 mm is a scribing tip for making coarser grooves and joints in plastic. A modeling tool, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A scribing tip in cemented carbide one millimeter wide is among the coarser tools of the scribing ranges. It is not used to restore fine panel lines but where a gap is meant to be clearly visible even after paint and varnish have been sprayed on: the joints between the planks of a deck, the grooves of formwork, open joints between plates in large scales, or suggesting masonry and wood on a diorama base.
Suited to modelers of military vehicles, ships and dioramas in the larger scales, where a millimeter groove corresponds to a real structural gap. Those who shape their own parts from plastic sheet and need clean grooves scribed into them for a bend or to suggest divided panels will appreciate it too. A cemented carbide blade lasts considerably longer than improvised tools made from needles and drill bits. If you are choosing between neighboring sizes in the range, bear in mind that every groove narrows visually once the base color and the varnish have been sprayed on.
The tip is very sharp and brittle and breaks if dropped onto a hard floor. Work on a mat, draw the stroke away from your free hand and store the tool out of the reach of children.
