The parts are in gray plastic, and the box usually holds a black stand with a nameplate and decals. The model is built as a full-hull piece; it offers a choice of position for the diving planes and a movable rudder.
The Yuan class is a modern Chinese diesel-electric attack submarine with conventional, non-nuclear propulsion. It follows on from earlier Chinese submarines and uses a range of modern solutions for quiet running. It serves to fight surface and submarine targets and to patrol coastal and adjacent waters.
Glue the hull halves together and clean up the parting line on the keel and the deck. Choose the position of the planes to suit the configuration you intend. Airbrush dark submarine shades, pick out the deck detail with a wash and even out the whole with a matte clear coat. Set it on the supplied stand.
