Bronco 1:350 German Long Range Submarine U-IXB is a plastic kit of the German ocean-going Type IXB submarine of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
Detailed plastic kit of the German long-range Type IXB submarine in 1:350 scale. The box combines injection-molded plastic parts with a photo-etched brass fret and a sheet of decals, so it allows a finely finished model with its conning tower and deck details to be built. A display base and a nameplate are usually included as well.
The Type IX submarines were large ocean-going boats designed for long patrols far from their home bases. The IXB version was among the most successful German submarines and operated above all in the Atlantic. It was marked out by long range, heavy torpedo armament and a deck gun. These boats played a significant part in the Battle of the Atlantic.
Glue the hull and the conning tower with thin cement for plastic, and attach the fine photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the model before painting and spray it with a surfacer. Bring out the color transitions of the hull and the conning tower with a dark water-soluble shade run into the recesses; the deck is best weathered with pigments for a weathered metal effect.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
