The HMS Exeter 1939 barrel set in 1:350 consists of turned metal barrels for the armament of the British heavy cruiser, which replace the plastic parts and raise the realism of the model markedly.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail set from the Polish company MASTER with turned metal barrels for models of the British heavy cruiser HMS Exeter as she was in 1939, in 1:350 scale. The set replaces the plastic barrels of the gun armament with accurate metal parts: the barrels of the main 8-inch guns, of the secondary 4-inch guns and of the 0.5-inch Vickers machine guns. It is not a model of the ship but an accessory for finishing off the armament.
HMS Exeter was a British heavy cruiser of the York class, famous for her part in the Battle of the River Plate in 1939 against the German pocket battleship Admiral Graf Spee. Her main armament consisted of 8-inch guns in twin turrets. The ship was later sunk in action in the Far East.
Cut off the original plastic barrels, drill a hole into the remaining stubs and glue the metal barrels in with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The metal version gives perfectly straight, thin and undistorted barrels, which stand up to handling better than plastic.
This is an accessory for the armament, not a complete model of the ship. The glue, the paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
