An external fuel tank of 230 gallons for a model of the OV-10 Bronco in 1:48 scale, hung on the centerline under the fuselage. The package holds one piece.
Responsibility details are not available.
The OV-10 Bronco is a twin-engine turboprop aircraft with a pair of tail booms and a deeply glazed cockpit, built for reconnaissance, forward air control and direct support of ground units. It served with the US Air Force and with other users, and its strength lay in its ability to stay over the battlefield for a long time. That is exactly what the large tank hung on the centerline under the fuselage was for.
One part representing an external fuel tank of 230 gallons, that is about 870 liters, in 1:48 scale. The tank fits on the centerline under the fuselage and suits the OV-10A, OV-10B and OV-10C versions. The accessory changes the silhouette of the model and suits a machine shown in a patrol configuration with a long endurance.
The part is not polystyrene, so plastic cement has no effect on it; use cyanoacrylate or epoxy. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder down so that the seating surface lines up with the fuselage. Wash and degrease the part before painting, otherwise the paint will hold poorly. Try the mounting dry and, if need be, add a wire pin; the joint will then take more. The exact procedure follows the manufacturer's instructions.
For the builder who wants the Bronco in a patrol configuration or whose model is missing a centerline store. The accessory also helps when you are building a model with empty underwing pylons and do not want the machine to look bare. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
