An injection-molded plastic kit of the Grumman A-6 Intruder carrier-based attack aircraft in 1:48 scale from Kinetic. The set is made up of parts in gray polystyrene, clear parts for the cockpit and a decal sheet with several marking options. The model is built by the classic technique of gluing plastic and is meant to be painted afterward.
The A-6 Intruder was a two-seat carrier-based attack aircraft of the US Navy and the Marine Corps, designed for precise strikes in all weather and at night. It carried a large load of bombs and guided munitions on its pylons and long formed the backbone of the strike capability of American aircraft carriers. It stayed in service from the 1960s to the 1990s.
We recommend thin cement for plastic and dry-fitting the parts before gluing. It is a good idea to paint the cockpit and the nose landing gear bay before closing the fuselage. For thin and even layers, an airbrush and a primer suit well. Apply the decals over a gloss coat and unify the whole model with a matte varnish at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
