The A6M Zero was the famous Japanese carrier fighter of the Second World War, renowned for its long range and exceptional agility. The A6M3 version was the next step in its development: it received the more powerful Sakae 21 engine with a two-speed supercharger. Early machines of this series (Model 32) had clipped, square-tipped wings, which improved the roll rate but reduced range; the later Model 22 went back to the original rounded wing with greater span and fuel capacity. The A6M3 saw combat above all in the fighting for the Solomon Islands.
Separate the parts from the sprues with a cutter and clean the sprue marks with a fine file. Use liquid modeling cement for plastic. Apply a primer coat before painting to unify the surface. An airbrush suits an even coat of the typical Japanese naval aviation shades, and the small details can be finished with a brush. The panel lines can be brought out gently with a thin wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
