A set of turned metal pitot tubes for an Aero L-39 Albatros model in 1:48 scale from MASTER. Metal sensors replace the plastic moldings that break off most often on this trainer.

This is not an aircraft kit but an accessory to one. The set holds turned metal pitot tubes for a model of the Czechoslovak Aero L-39 Albatros trainer in 1:48 scale. The name is in the plural, so the set covers more than one sensor.
The L-39 Albatros is a jet trainer of Czechoslovak design that was used for basic and advanced training and still serves in many countries today. The pressure sensors on it are among the prominent details of the forward fuselage, and they are exactly the most vulnerable parts on a model. Turned metal keeps the section and the length exactly to the drawing and, unlike plastic, does not warp.
First compare the position of the metal part with the plastic original and only then cut the plastic off. Drill the hole with a hand drill rather than a powered one, so that the thin wall of the fuselage is not torn through. Glue the metal part in with super glue; with a larger gap epoxy is safer, as it can still be aligned before it sets. Degrease the metal before painting and spray it with a metal primer. Fit the tubes as the last step of the build, after varnishing and decals, so that they do not get in the way during masking.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
