AIM-9D Sidewinder (4 pcs) is a 3D-printed resin missile set from Reskit in 1:48 scale for superdetailing models of American fighters of the 1960s.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of four 3D-printed resin AIM-9D Sidewinder short-range missiles in 1:48 scale. This is not an aircraft kit but an external stores accessory with which you replace the coarser plastic missiles from the base kit with truer parts with a fine surface, sharp fin edges and full relief detail.
The AIM-9D was the naval version of the early infrared-guided Sidewinder missile with a more powerful motor and a cooled seeker. It went into service in the 1960s on American carrier and tactical aircraft, for example the A-4 Skyhawk, the F-4 Phantom II, the F-8 Crusader and the A-7 Corsair II. The long forward control surfaces and the cylindrical body are characteristic.
First wash the print resin residue off the parts, cut them from the print supports and clean them up. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). A fine primer coat before painting is recommended; the body is usually white or light gray with colored identification bands on the seeker head.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
