This is a resin detail set, not an aircraft model. The set replaces the plastic exhaust nozzles at the rear of the British BAC (English Electric) Lightning interceptor and is shaped for kits of this aircraft in 1:48 scale from Airfix. It corresponds to the late F.3, F.5 and F.6 versions, the export F.53 and the T.55 trainer. The casting captures the inside of the nozzles and the outer ring more finely than a split plastic part and there is no seam to clean up.
The Lightning was a British supersonic Cold War interceptor with its Rolls-Royce Avon engines unusually stacked one above the other. The pair of nozzles at the rear is one of the visually exposed places on a model.
For modelers building the Airfix Lightning who want to lift one of the most conspicuous details of the rear end. Working with resin assumes at least some basic experience.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package. Use a respirator and ventilate when sanding resin.
