Omask Boulton Paul Defiant O-max set (1:48)

This is an accessory, not an aircraft model. The O-max set from Omask contains precisely cut painting masks for the canopy glazing and the rotating gun turret, together with foam (EVA) plugs for the landing gear bays. The masks let you spray the frames of the glazing cleanly, and the foam plugs protect the inside of the bays from paint during airbrushing.

The real subject

The Boulton Paul Defiant was a British fighter of the Second World War with an unusual concept: its armament was a rotating gun turret behind the pilot's cockpit rather than fixed guns in the wings. It proved itself above all as a night fighter.

Use

• The masks are laid straight onto the glazing of the canopy and of the gun turret and follow the shape of the frames exactly.
• The framing of the glazing is sprayed without laborious masking with tape by hand.
• The foam plugs go into the landing gear bays and keep paint from getting in.
• Once the paint is dry, both the masks and the plugs come off easily.

Neither the masks nor the plugs contain paint. The set is cut for the Trumpeter kit of the Defiant.
