About product

British radio station 1:48 (Firma49)

This resin, 3D-printed set in 1:48 scale captures a British field radio set of the Second World War, including a form based on the Wireless Set No. 19 and the accompanying instruments. It is not a kit of a vehicle but an interior accessory that adds faithful detail to armored vehicles, command cars and dioramas.

The real subject

The radio sets of the Wireless Set family provided communications and command for British and Allied units during the Second World War. Their boxy cases with their controls are a typical feature of the interiors of tank turrets and staff vehicles.

Usage tips

Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water, separate them from the carrier blocks and clean up the surfaces. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), and sanding should be done with respiratory protection. A smaller scale puts the emphasis on careful handling and a clean cut; it is advisable to finish the painting before building them into an interior.

Who it is for

  • modelers of British and Allied vehicles of the Second World War in 1:48 scale
  • those who create detailed interiors of turrets and command cars
  • more experienced builders used to working with resin

The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted as resin parts. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
