A decal sheet in 1:48 scale for the Curtiss Hawk 75A fighter in Finnish service. The model is not included in the package.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Curtiss Hawk 75A was the export form of the American fighter with a radial engine and retractable landing gear. In the second half of the 1930s it was among the best of its kind, but by the beginning of the war more powerful rivals had overtaken it. The aircraft spread to a number of countries, and some of them reached Finland by a roundabout route, where they went on flying against the Soviet Air Force. The Finnish machines are among the most colorful chapters in the history of the type.
A decal sheet in 1:48 scale with the national markings and codes of Finnish aircraft. These are classic waterslide decals, released from the backing with water. The aircraft model, paints and varnish are not in the package.
Finish the painting of the model first and give it a coat of gloss varnish, on which the decals will bed down without haze. Cut the marking out as close to the artwork as possible, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it releases. Wet the area, move the decal over with a soft brush and blot the surplus water away with a cloth. In the larger scale the carrier film is more noticeable, so it pays to trim the marking close and use a softener. Once dry, varnish everything over to the degree of gloss you want.
The set is intended for builders of Finnish aircraft in 1:48 scale who want more accurate and sharper markings than the base kit offers. The model, paints, glue and varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Check compatibility with your particular kit against the manufacturer's information.
