A plastic kit of the Dassault-Dornier Alpha Jet trainer and light ground-attack aircraft in the A and E versions in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Alpha Jet came about as a joint French-German program and became one of the most widespread jet trainers of Western Europe. The pair of turbofan engines is housed on the sides of the rear fuselage, the crew sit in tandem one behind the other, and the high-set wing gives the machine a good view and good handling at low level. The A version served in Germany, where the heart of its work lay in light ground-attack use, while the E version stayed in the training role.
This is a plastic kit to be glued and painted in 1:48 scale. The finished model comes out just under thirty centimeters long and about nineteen centimeters in span, so it fits into an ordinary display case without trouble. According to its name the set covers the A and E versions and aims at machines in German service. The number of parts and the choice of marking variants are given in the maker's instructions.
Rid the parts of excess material and traces of manufacture, sand the mating surfaces and try the assembly dry before applying any glue. Finish and paint the cockpit with both seats before you close the fuselage up and fit the canopy. Use a cement for plastic models and apply it sparingly. Wash and degrease the surface before painting. Stick the masking tapes on the glazing before spraying and take them off as soon as the paint has become tacky.
The kit will suit the modeler who likes postwar jet equipment and wants a machine with striking training and combat schemes in a display case. Paints, thinner, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
