Eduard 1:48 Do 215B-5 Nightfighter masks is a pre-cut self-adhesive masking set made of kabuki tape, for masking the extensive glazing and the wheels of a model of the German night fighter. It is not a model, but an accessory for clean painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard contains precisely pre-cut self-adhesive masks made of fine Japanese kabuki tape for a model of the Dornier Do 215B-5 in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit and it is not a finished model, but an accessory that makes masking easier and more accurate when spraying paint.
The masks are applied to the many frames of the extensively glazed nose and cockpit and to the wheel rims, so that after spraying the glass stays clear and the tires stay free of paint. Kabuki tape adapts well to curved shapes, holds tight and leaves no adhesive when peeled off. The glazing frames therefore come out sharp and straight, with no tape to cut by hand.
The Dornier Do 215B-5 was the night fighter conversion of a German twin-engine aircraft derived from the Do 17 and Do 215 bomber and reconnaissance family. The glazed nose gave way to a modified front end with guns and airborne interception radar. The machine served in the night defense of German airspace in the first half of the Second World War.
The set contains pre-cut masking parts only. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
