A replacement exhaust nozzle of the F-35B Lightning II in the deflected position for vertical landing. The accessory is shaped for the Italeri kit in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-35B Lightning II is the variant of the fifth-generation combat aircraft intended for short takeoff and vertical landing. As it transitions into the hover, the exhaust nozzle of the powerplant deflects from the horizontal position downwards, so that the thrust points at the ground. It is exactly this state that the set captures, which is why it suits a model shown landing on a deck or on a short strip.
A replacement exhaust nozzle in the deflected position in 1:48 scale, shaped for the F-35B kit from Italeri. Against the part from the kit it offers more accurate separation of the individual petals and cleanly rendered inner surfaces, which are clearly visible from behind on a deflected nozzle.
The parts are not polystyrene and ordinary cement for plastic will not join them. Use super glue, with an activator on larger contact areas. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down carefully, so as not to cut into the shape. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, or the paint will hold badly. Paint the inner surfaces before you seat the nozzle into the fuselage, because once glued you will not reach them. A detailed preparation procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
For modelers who want to build the F-35B in the position for vertical landing and are not satisfied with the nozzle from the box.
Only the accessory named is supplied. The kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
