A replacement frame for the open canopy of the F-35B Lightning II for the Tamiya kit in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning II is the fifth-generation version intended for short takeoff and vertical landing, which you recognize by the lift fan behind the cockpit. The canopy is hinged at the front and swings upward, so on a parked machine its frame and its inner side are clearly visible.
It is a replacement frame for the open canopy for the F-35B kit from Tamiya in 1:48 scale. It replaces the part from the kit and is shaped for the open position, so you can build the model with the canopy raised without rebuilding the frame yourself.
First try the part dry against the clear canopy and against the outline of the cockpit, and only then glue it. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little from the part and sand the remainder off. Cement for polystyrene need not work on the part; super glue holds reliably. Glue the clear canopy with a cement intended for clear parts, so that the surface does not fog, and paint the frame before you join it to the clear part.
The set is for modelers who are building the F-35B with an open cockpit and want the frame and its inner side cleanly resolved. On a model with the canopy closed it is of no use.
The set completes a kit, which it does not include. Paints and glue are not in the package, unless stated otherwise.
