The boxing is aimed at machines in aggressor camouflage, that is Hornets that play the part of the enemy with training units. The box makes it possible to build the A, C and D variants and offers several marking schemes of aggressor squadrons in eye-catching camouflage.
The F/A-18 Hornet is an American carrier multirole fighter that combines fighter and attack duties in a single machine. An aggressor is an aircraft and a pilot that deliberately plays the adversary in training: it imitates the tactics and the look of enemy machines so that the crews under training gain experience of air combat against a different opponent. That is exactly why aggressor Hornets wear colorful, unusual camouflage derived from foreign schemes. They were used by American training and reserve units.
Assemble and paint the cockpit before closing the fuselage, because once it is glued there is no access to it. Mask the cockpit glazing and paint it separately so that it stays clear. On the Hornet the folding carrier wing can be shown folded or spread. Fit the underwing stores and the tanks according to the chosen scheme. Glue the parts with thin modeling cement for plastic; a base coat of primer and spraying with an airbrush are recommended, and aggressor camouflage usually calls for careful masking of the color fields.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
