A pre-painted 3D detail set of the instrument panel from Red Fox Studio, intended for a model of the single-seat fighter and strike aircraft F/A-18A Hornet in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit of the aircraft but an accessory which replaces or improves the instrument panel and the adjacent panels in the cockpit. The set is shaped into a 3D relief and painted at the factory, so the dials, displays and switches look plastic and faithful. The set is intended for the Kinetic kit.
The F/A-18A Hornet is an American single-seat carrier-borne multi-role aircraft which entered service in the 1980s. It stands out for its reliability, good handling and the ability to carry out fighter as well as strike tasks. Its cockpit with glazed instruments is a rewarding place for detailed treatment.
Separate the part carefully from the carrier backing and glue it with super glue (cyanoacrylate) in the place of the original instrument panel. The set is ready with practically no further painting; the surface can be gently highlighted with a thin wash. Adapt the mounting to the particular kit for which the set is designed.
It is an accessory for the cockpit, not a model of the aircraft. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
