Injection-molded plastic kit of the British carrier-based aircraft BAe Sea Harrier FA2 in 1:48 scale from Kinetic. The box offers a generous decal sheet that lets you build a range of machines in colorful as well as subdued finishes, including separate national insignia, serial numbers and technical markings.
The Sea Harrier was a British single-seat carrier-based fighter, attack and reconnaissance aircraft with vertical or short take-off and landing (V/STOL) - it achieved lift and control through the rotating nozzles of its engine. The FA2 version came about in the 1990s as an upgrade for the Royal Navy: it brought markedly better air combat capability, a new radar and a wider choice of armament. Machines of this version served until the end of the 1990s.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with thin liquid cement for plastic. Mask the cockpit glazing, lay down a primer and spray the gray naval camouflage with an airbrush in thin coats. The rotating nozzles and the landing gear bays reward careful shading. Pick the panel lines out with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
