An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Grumman EA-6B Prowler carrier-based electronic warfare aircraft in 1:48 scale from Kinetic. The boxing is devoted to the VMAQ-2 Playboys squadron and, besides the aircraft itself, it contains photo-etched parts.
The EA-6B Prowler is an American carrier-based electronic warfare aircraft derived from the A-6 Intruder attack machine. Its task is to jam enemy radars and communications and to destroy radar sites, creating an electronic shield for the other aircraft. It does this with underwing ECM jamming pods and specialized avionics; the crew consists of a pilot and electronic systems operators. The VMAQ-2 Playboys squadron of the US Marine Corps was known for its striking mascot and colorful markings.
Assemble and paint the roomy cockpit before you close the fuselage. Mask the extensive canopy glazing and paint it separately so that it stays clear. The folding carrier wing can be shown in the folded or the spread position. Fit the ECM jamming pods and the tanks according to the scheme. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and the photo-etched items with cyanoacrylate; a primer and an airbrush are recommended. A final wash emphasizes the panel lines on the large surface of the aircraft.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
