A set of pre-cut self-adhesive masking templates from the Czech manufacturer Omask, shaped for the Hawker Hurricane Mk.I kit in 1:48 scale from Airfix. It is neither a model nor a kit: it is a modeling accessory that serves to cover the areas that are not to be sprayed. The templates follow the frames of the cockpit glazing and the outlines of the tires, so there is no laborious cutting of masking tape with a knife on the model itself and no risk of the blade scratching a clear part.

Use

• Peel the individual parts of the mask off the carrier sheet and carry them over to the relevant place on the model; the shape fits with no further adjustment.
• Stick the glazing masks onto the cockpit frames; press the edges down carefully with a toothpick or a blunt stick so that paint does not creep under them.
• Use the wheel masks to separate the tire from the hub; after spraying a sharp edge appears with no overlap.
• Spray in thin coats; a heavy coat of paint raises the risk of the edge breaking away as the mask is lifted.
• Lift the masks off while the paint is freshly dry, ideally with a slanting pull back over themselves.
