A pair of resin ejection seats in 1:48 scale for the two-seat trainer version of the Jaguar. The castings match the older service state Mk.2 and replace the simplified parts from a plastic kit. The set does not make a model of the aircraft on its own.
The Jaguar trainers came about by lengthening the nose for a second station. The rear cockpit of the instructor is seated higher, so that he has a view over the head of the pupil. Both places were given the same type of seat as the single-seat combat machines carried, so with the canopy slid back two identical shells are visible one behind the other. The aircraft had the Mk.2 state before the reworking of the parachute stowage introduced in the second half of the 1980s reached them.
Rinse the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and let them dry out, as the residue of the mold release agent would make stains under the paint. Cut the casting block off with a fine saw and level the surface with abrasive paper under water. It is joined with cyanoacrylate; cement for plastic does not work here. A thin layer of primer helps before painting, and the harness and the colored accents of the handles come on top of that.
The package holds only the castings; paints and glue are not included.
