The Messerschmitt Bf 109 was the most numerously built German fighter of the Second World War and the sheet is tied to three stages of its development at once. The E version, known by the nickname Emil, had square wingtips and was powered by the inverted V12 Daimler-Benz DB 601 engine. The F version received rounded wingtips, a cleaner nose and tail surfaces without external struts. The G version was the most widespread of them all and carried the more powerful Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine of the same inverted V12 layout.
Markings for the versions named, in 1:48 scale. The designation Pt.1 says that this is the first part and that a continuation with further markings follows it. The sheet is a stand-alone accessory, so it assumes a model that already has its paint sprayed and dry. How many variants it offers, how the markings are laid out and which kits they are cut for are given in the instructions enclosed with the sheet.
Do not cut the whole sheet up in advance; separate the individual elements only at the moment you are going to apply them, and close to the printing. Prepare the surface smooth and glossy, because on a matte finish air stays under the element and the edge turns white. Soak the element for a few seconds, let it rest until it begins to move on the paper, and then guide it into place with a damp brush. Blot the water off and press the excess out from the center toward the edges. Over engraving, softener helps, and once it is dry the print draws into the relief. Finally clear-coat the area. Store an unused sheet dry and in the dark, otherwise the print turns brittle in time.
The decal sheet alone is supplied. The kit, the paints, the varnish and the softener are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
