The set brings a complete color interior for the cockpit of the MiG-21R reconnaissance aircraft in 1:48 scale, in the version with green panels. These are 3D printed and fully colored details on backing decal paper, supplemented with several 3D printed resin parts. They are neither photo-etched parts nor ordinary marking decals, but three-dimensional color decals that carry the instrument panel, the side panels and the cockpit equipment across with realistic relief and color. The set is intended for the Eduard kit.
The MiG-21R was the reconnaissance version of the widespread Soviet supersonic fighter, equipped with pods of reconnaissance gear. The characteristic green shades of the cockpit are typical of equipment from the Soviet design school, and this set reproduces them faithfully.
The part is cut out, soaked in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slid off the backing paper into place. It has no adhesive layer of its own; it holds on a surface gone over with gloss varnish, and on a contoured shape a drop of superglue helps; on a matte base it would not hold. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as the chemicals attack the printed resin. The resin parts are washed before use and glued with superglue, working with tweezers.
This is an accessory for detailing the cockpit, not an aircraft model. The basic Eduard kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
