This is NOT an aircraft model but a set of die-cut self-adhesive masks from New Ware in 1:48 scale. The masks are cut from kabuki tape (washi, a Japanese paper with an adhesive layer) and serve for accurate masking when painting the plastic kit of the MiG-23MF Flogger-B fighter. The parts are pre-cut to fit one specific model, so there is no need to cut the frames out with a knife.
The MiG-23MF (NATO reporting name Flogger-B) was the export fighter version of the Soviet variable-geometry aircraft, delivered to Warsaw Pact allies with modified avionics and radar. It could engage targets beyond visual range with radar-guided medium-range missiles and was one of the most widespread types in its class.
The BASIC level is the entry variant. It covers the outer masking of the glazed canopy, where applicable of the other clear parts, and as a rule masks for the wheel hubs. It contains no masks for the inside of the glazing and no separate frame borders - it concentrates on the essential, that is on a clean division between the frame and the glass when spraying. The masks are stuck onto the clear parts so that they follow the curvature, and after spraying with an airbrush they are removed gently without any adhesive residue.
An add-on masking set, not a standalone model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
