Eduard LööK 1:48 Mikoyan MiG-21PF is a set with a resin instrument panel painted at the factory, intended for the cockpit of a model of the MiG-21PF fighter in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory to a kit.

The LööK line deals with one particular place on a model: the instrument panel. The resin casting arrives painted and with the dials printed on, so the most laborious part of fitting out a cockpit falls away. The panel goes in place of the plastic part from the kit of the MiG-21PF model in 1:48 scale. Eduard is a Czech manufacturer from Obrnice near Most. The model itself is not part of the package.
The MiG-21 is a Soviet single-engine supersonic fighter with a delta wing and a circular nose air intake housing a movable shock cone. The PF version is one of the first interceptor variants equipped with an onboard radar, because of which it has a larger cone and a reshaped nose compared with the early variants. The instrument panel of the interceptor version has indicators connected with the radar added to it compared with the day fighter, so it cannot be confused with the panel of another sub-variant.
The commonest mistake is to fit the panel permanently before trying the whole assembly dry. Put the resin part into the cockpit tub, the tub into the fuselage and simply hold the fuselage together with rubber bands. Only then will you find out whether the panel keeps a fuselage half from seating or the canopy from closing. Usually the wall behind the panel has to be thinned or a plastic support shortened. Keep to the order of assembly: first seat and test the panel, and only then glue the seat and the side panels, otherwise you will not get tweezers into the space. Wash the resin in warm water with dish soap to remove the remains of mold release agent, otherwise the glue holds poorly. It is glued with super glue in small drops along the edges. Do not spray over the printed dials; to even out the sheen of the surroundings, mask the panel instead. A drop of gloss varnish in the dials deepens the impression of glass.
