An injection-molded plastic kit of the two-seat trainer version of the French supersonic Dassault Mirage III fighter in 1:48 scale from Kinetic. The set contains parts for several two-seat variants with a lengthened fuselage and a tandem cockpit. The model offers finely engraved panel structure, a detailed cockpit and wheel wells, and decals for machines of several users.
The Mirage III was a French supersonic fighter with a distinctive delta wing, one of the most successful combat aircraft of its era. The two-seat trainer versions came about by stretching the fuselage so that two seats would fit one behind the other; this cost internal fuel volume. The characteristic delta wing without a horizontal tail gave the Mirage high speed but made demands on the pilot during landing. These trainers served with a number of air forces around the world, among them France, Australia and Switzerland, and allowed pilots to convert to the single-seat combat versions.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with thin liquid plastic cement. Apply primer before painting and spray the camouflage with an airbrush in thin coats. Mask the glazing of the tandem cockpit and bring out the panel lines with a fine wash. Paint the drop tanks and the stores separately and fit them at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
