A resin (3D printed) cockpit set for models of the F-105D Thunderchief fighter-bomber in its early form, 1:48 scale. The basic edition relies on 3D decals for the instrument panels and consoles: colored, raised elements are applied like a decal and save time on hand painting the dial faces. It is an aftermarket accessory from Reskit that replaces the simplified plastic interior.
The Republic F-105D was a single-seat supersonic fighter-bomber, the backbone of the strike operations of the US Air Force over North Vietnam. The early form had a characteristic arrangement of the instrument panel and the side consoles, which this set reproduces faithfully.
Wash the parts free of any uncured print resin residue and separate them from the print supports. Bond the resin with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and sand it with respiratory protection. Apply the base color with a primer, put the 3D decals onto a smooth, degreased surface and fix them with a matte varnish that is compatible with decals.
This is a resin interior accessory; the set does not contain the model itself, paints or glue, unless stated otherwise.
