1:48 Su-24M Fencer-D is an injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet two-seat tactical bomber with a variable-geometry wing from the manufacturer Trumpeter.

A plastic kit of the two-seat tactical bomber in the M version, which the NATO reporting-name system calls Fencer-D. In 1:48 scale it is a large and massive model with a movable wing, a pair of angular air intakes and a wide nose in which the crew sits side by side. The kit comes from Trumpeter, which has long specialized in large Soviet and Russian types in this scale.
The Su-24 came about as the Soviet answer to the need for an aircraft able to hit a target at low altitude and in any weather. A wing with a variable sweep angle let it take off from shorter runways and still fly low at high speed, and the crew consists of a pilot and a navigator-operator sitting side by side. The M version was a modernization aimed at precision strikes: it got a new system for guiding precision munitions and a fitting for air-to-air refueling. The type was among the most capable machines of its kind and stayed in service in a number of countries for decades.
With a large fuselage it pays to glue in whole sections and to keep checking that the halves are not pulling apart anywhere. Try the movable wing mechanism dry and dose the glue around it carefully. Gray-green schemes with pronounced panel transitions reward a fine shadow in the scribed lines, and leave the metal areas around the nozzles for the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
