Quinta Models 1:48 Su-25SM/SM3 is a complete kit of the ground-attack aircraft - the box holds an injection-molded plastic basis (the plastic comes from the Zvezda kit) supplemented with 3D-printed resin parts, colored 3D cockpit decals, photo-etch and markings for six machines.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a separate detail set but a complete kit released under the Quinta Models brand. In the box you will find an injection-molded plastic basis - the plastic comes from the Zvezda kit - and with it a whole package of Quinta accessories: 3D-printed resin parts (among them a modernized instrument panel, two variants of the head-up display matching the SM and SM3 versions, an ejection seat, wheels, pods, antennas and sensors), sets of colored 3D decals for the cockpit, photo-etch for the external details and decals for six machines. The model can therefore be built straight out of the box, with no further accessories to buy.
The Su-25, NATO reporting name Frogfoot, is a Soviet and later Russian ground-attack aircraft for the close support of ground forces - in its role it therefore corresponds to the American A-10. It is built for low flying over the battlefield, for resistance to hits and for carrying bomb and rocket armament. The SM and SM3 versions are deeply modernized Russian upgrades that adapted the machine to the present-day battlefield: new avionics and systems for targeting and using precision munitions. It is precisely the differences between the SM and the SM3 that the accessories in this box cover.
The build combines two technologies and each wants a different approach. Glue the plastic parts with ordinary liquid cement for plastic. First wash the resin (3D-printed) parts free of uncured print resin residue, cut them carefully away from the print supports, always sand them with respiratory protection (resin dust must not be inhaled) and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) - ordinary cement for plastic has no effect on them. The colored 3D decals have a thickness and relief of their own: apply them to a smooth, previously painted and dried surface and follow the instructions; do not experiment needlessly with aggressive softeners and strong varnishes on them. The rest is the classic routine - a primer, an airbrush on the large areas, decals over a gloss coat and a final matte overcoat, which looks most natural on a combat aircraft.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
