This is not a vehicle kit but an add-on photo-etched set. It serves to raise the detail of a plastic model of the German Tiger I heavy tank in its early production form, 1:48 scale. The etched parts replace plastic pieces that in this scale are necessarily thicker than reality allows, and they add fine elements an injection mold cannot capture. The maker is Voyager Model, a brand focused on metal accessories for military vehicle models. The set is meant for the Tamiya 32603 32504 kit.
The Tiger I, in full the Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger Ausf. E, was a German heavy tank of the Second World War armed with an 88 mm gun. During production it went through a number of changes, so early, mid and late production series are distinguished. The early machines differ from later ones in, among other things, the form of the commander's cupola, the layout of the exhausts and the fittings on the hull, the engine compartment ventilation system and the details of the fenders. It is precisely these small things that tend to be simplified on a plastic model.
Separate the parts with a scalpel on a hard surface and make the bends in a bending tool or over a metal ruler. Glue the metal with super glue; on larger areas a gel version with a longer setting time helps. Degrease the metal before painting and coat it with a primer. Assemble and paint the running gear before closing the hull up - on a Tiger with its interleaved road wheels you cannot reach the inner rows later. Build the weathering up gradually: a wash into the recesses, then dust pigments on the underside and the fenders.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The base Tamiya kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Check that it matches your kit before buying.
