A precisely cut self-adhesive masking set in Japanese paper tape (kabuki) for a plastic model of the Soviet two-seat interceptor Yakovlev Yak-28P in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer New Ware. It is not a model and not a paint, but a set of masks for a clean coat on the glazing and the details. The BASIC level contains masks for the cockpit glazing from the outer side, for the wheels and for further clear parts.
The Yakovlev Yak-28P was a Soviet two-seat supersonic interceptor of the Cold War, Firebar in the NATO reporting system. It arose within the Yak-28 family of types and was adapted to destroy hostile aircraft with guided missiles in all weather. Characteristic are the slender body, the engine nacelles under the wing and the glazed nose with a long radar spike. It flew with the Soviet air defense forces.
The masks are cut from a tape that adapts to the curvature of the cockpit and leaves no sticky traces once lifted. Degrease and dry the surface before applying them, transfer the parts with tweezers and press them against the edges of the frames. Cover the remaining area of the glazing with scraps of tape or with liquid mask. Apply the paint with an airbrush in thin coats and peel the masks off before the coat is fully dry, so that the edges stay sharp.
This is a self-adhesive masking set, not a model and not paints. The model itself, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
