An injection-molded plastic kit of the two-seat Grumman A-6E Intruder carrier-based attack aircraft in 1:72 scale from the Japanese firm Hasegawa. The model is molded in gray plastic, with clear parts for the cockpit glazing and a decal sheet. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The A-6 Intruder was a carrier-based attack aircraft of the US Navy and the US Marine Corps designed for precise strikes in any weather, by day and by night. Its recognizable marks were the pair of crew seated side by side and the bulky nose with radar and guidance electronics. The A-6E version brought an upgraded sensor and guidance system and formed the backbone of the carrier strike squadrons for a long time.
Liquid cement for plastic and cleaning up the joints on the fuselage and the engine nacelles both work well. A primer coat before painting is recommended, and the finish itself is best handled by an airbrush. The typical scheme is gray and white naval with low-contrast markings. Apply the decals over a gloss coat and go over them with a matte one, so that the edges are not visible.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
