A plastic kit of the Japanese A5M2b carrier fighter, which the Allies knew by the name Claude, in 1:72 scale. The release captures the early production form.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mitsubishi A5M was the first Japanese carrier fighter monoplane, which replaced the biplanes of the previous generation. It was a low-wing aircraft with fixed landing gear, its wheels hidden in aerodynamic spats, and an air-cooled radial engine. The Allies used the reporting name Claude for the type. The A5M2b version came about during production and this release captures its early form.
This is an injection-molded polystyrene kit to be glued and painted, together with instructions. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and the parts are separated from the sprues.
It suits a modeler with basic experience who is interested in Japanese naval aviation of the 1930s. A machine with fixed landing gear and clean lines is also rewarding for practicing color transitions and subtle panel emphasis.
Paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
