Instrument panel A6M3 Zero 1:72, the Mitsubishi shade (Yahu Models)

A color photo-etched instrument panel for the cockpit of the Japanese carrier fighter Mitsubishi A6M3 Zero in 1:72 scale from Yahu Models. It is not an aircraft model but a finished, pre-printed and painted cockpit accessory, color matched to the interior green of machines built by Mitsubishi. The panel replaces the plastic instrument panel part and raises the realism of the cockpit.

The real subject

The A6M3 was a more capable development of the Zero fighter. It received the more powerful Nakajima Sakae 21 engine of around 1130 horsepower and, in the Model 32 version, clipped wingtips, which improved speed and handling at higher speeds but reduced range. The later Model 22 brought back the folding wingtips and the longer range. Compared with the early A6M2 it differs in engine, wing outline and details in the cockpit.
