1:72 AIR-2 Genie nuclear air-to-air rocket (1 pcs) is a single air-to-air rocket for filling out a model of an interceptor.
Responsibility details are not available.
The offer contains the body of an air-to-air rocket on its own, not an aircraft. It serves to fill out the stores or the internal weapons bay of a machine that is already built.
The AIR-2 Genie was an American unguided rocket of the 1950s, designed to defend airspace against formations of bombers. It was carried by interceptors of the F-89, F-101B and F-106 types, which took off from readiness and operated over the thinly settled territory of the north. The weapon stayed in service throughout the Cold War and today it is above all a record of how the defense of the continent was thought about at the time.
The body of the rocket has a smooth surface, so every unevenness left by working it will show; it pays to go over it with a very fine sponge and check the result against the light. The stabilizing surfaces are thin and bend easily, so it is a good idea to leave them protected until the last moment. A spray of a light shade holds better over a primer, and the joint between the body and the mounting is worth refining with filler. Anyone building a whole scene can leave the rocket on a handling trolley beside the machine; a smaller object will then not compete with the mass of the model and will stay easy to read. Setting the nose and the body apart in color is the simplest way to give a small part some depth.
The aircraft the rocket belongs to is obtained separately.
