A resin, 3D printed detail set from the manufacturer Reskit in 1:72 scale. The package contains one American AN/ALQ-71(V)-3 jamming pod, that is an electronic warfare pod. This is not an aircraft kit but an accessory for the external equipment, with a faithful shape of the body as well as of the antennas. The (V)-3 version differs from the related (V)-2 version in the arrangement of the antennas.
The AN/ALQ-71 is an American external pod for jamming enemy radars which guided anti-aircraft missiles. It found its widest use during the Vietnam War, when it was hung under combat aircraft of the US Air Force as well as the US Navy. The individual sub-versions differed in the form and the placement of the antennas.
Wash the parts free of release agent, cut the casting blocks and printing supports off and sand them down with protection of the airways. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply primer, paint with an airbrush and pick the fine antennas and details out with a wash.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
