A resin accessory with extended flaps for a model of the Antonov An-12 in 1:72. It gives the model of the Soviet transport the look of landing.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin set from LACI that replaces the trailing edge flaps of the wing on a model of the Soviet four-engine Antonov An-12 transport aircraft in 1:72 scale. The parts are cast in the lowered position, so the machine comes out as it would on a supply flight shortly before touchdown. Without a basic kit the set makes no sense.
The An-12 first flew at the end of the 1950s and became the most widespread Soviet medium transport. It carried four turboprop engines, had a high-mounted wing and a rear ramp for loading and for paratroops. The military versions added a defensive tail turret, a detail that sets the type far apart from Western machines of comparable size. Over a thousand were built, the aircraft reached a number of countries, and in freight service across Africa and Asia they could still be met decades after production ended.
The castings sit on massive gates, which are better cut off with a saw and the remainder sanded down than snapped off. Clean the surface well, otherwise the paint will flake. Repeat the dry fit several times until the part seats without being forced. Cyanoacrylate handles the gluing; fill any gaps with putty and sand them out.
Inside you will find resin castings only. The aircraft kit and modeling chemicals do not belong with them.
