An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet MiG-15UTI jet trainer in 1:48 scale from Trumpeter. It is the two-seat trainer version of the famous MiG-15 fighter. According to the manufacturer the box holds plastic parts, clear parts for both cockpits and decals, so you can build a clean model of the early jet era.
The MiG-15UTI, NATO reporting name Midget, was the two-seat trainer version of the first series-built Soviet jet fighter, the MiG-15. Instructor and pupil sat in tandem, one behind the other, under a glazed canopy. Adding the second seat reduced the internal fuel capacity, so drop tanks were often carried under the wings. The Midget became one of the most widely used jet trainers and served in dozens of countries for decades.
Use liquid cement for plastic and finish and paint both cockpits before closing the fuselage. Apply primer before painting; an airbrush is ideal. For natural metal schemes, metalizer paints over a smooth, polished base work best. Mask the tandem canopy glazing for clean, sharp edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
