A richly equipped plastic model of the German twin-engined heavy fighter Messerschmitt Bf 110F in 1:72 scale from the ProfiPACK series by Eduard. The basis is Eduard's plastic tooling, completed by pre-painted photo-etched parts, painting masks and Eduard decals. The boxing offers five color schemes and contains no resin parts. The markings include machines that fought in Finland, Norway and on the Eastern Front, as well as a night fighter finish.
The Bf 110 was a twin-engined heavy fighter (Zerstörer) of the Luftwaffe with a crew of a pilot and a radio operator and gunner. The F version received the more powerful Daimler-Benz DB 601 engines and existed in several sub-versions – the F-2 served as a day fighter and fighter-bomber, while the F-4 was a night fighter deployed against Allied bomber formations. Thanks to its long range and heavy nose armament, the Bf 110 was one of the versatile combat aircraft of its time.
The pre-painted photo-etched parts speed up the build of the glazed cockpit and the instrument panel without laborious painting, and the painting masks make it easier to spray the extensive canopy cleanly. It is worth working with a thin cement for plastic and with an airbrush. For the night fighter schemes count on dark shades and subtle panel emphasis; on the day machines the typical German camouflage with the transitions sketched out first works well. Pick out the small features with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
