Wet (waterslide) decals from the British brand Kits-World for plastic models of the Bristol Beaufort Mk.I torpedo bomber in 1:72 scale. The sheet holds national insignia, code letters and serials and additional markings for a faithful finish. This is a decal set on its own, not an aircraft kit.

The real subject

The Bristol Beaufort was a British twin-engined torpedo and patrol bomber that served in the Second World War above all with Coastal Command. The Mk.I version was powered by Bristol Taurus radial engines. Beauforts attacked enemy shipping with torpedoes and bombs over the North Sea, the English Channel and in the Mediterranean.

Use and tips

• Apply the decals onto a smooth gloss coat, which prevents dull silvering under the film.
• Dip the part in lukewarm water for a few seconds and slide it off the paper onto the model.
• Use a decal softener to bed it into the detail; once it is down, do not move it and give it at least 45 minutes.
• Seal the finished markings with a matte or gloss clear varnish.
