1:72 Challenger 1 - British Main Battle Tank is a plastic kit of the British main battle tank that made its name in the Gulf War.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the British tank Challenger 1 in 1:72 scale. The finished model measures not quite sixteen centimeters including the gun, so it suits a display case as well as a small diorama. Behind the release stands the brand Revell.
The Challenger 1 came out of the Shir 2 project, originally intended for Iran. After the fall of the Shah's regime the British Army took the machine over and from 1983 was bringing it into service. It carried composite armor of the Chobham type, a rifled gun of 120 millimeters and a diesel engine with an output of around twelve hundred horsepower; hydrogas suspension gave it unusually calm going across country. It entered history in 1991 in the Gulf, where British units crossed the desert without enemy fire destroying a single one of these tanks, and where the record fell for hitting a target at an extraordinary range. After being withdrawn from British service the machines were taken over by Jordan.
The running gear takes the most work; leave the track links for a time when you have peace and paint them before fitting them. A desert scheme comes out well with a fine dust pigment on the fenders and in the fender wells. Work the stowage boxes and the grilles on the hull separately, otherwise they will be lost in a uniform tone.
The package does not hold paints or glue; the model is supplied to be built.
