Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Curtiss Hawk II fighter biplane in 1:72 scale from RS Models. This edition offers decals for the machine linked with the celebrated aerobatic pilot and First World War ace Ernst Udet, who bought a private Hawk II in the 1930s. The box holds the plastic parts, a clear canopy part and a decal sheet.
The Curtiss Hawk II was the export version of the American carrier-borne fighter biplane derived from the F11C Goshawk, powered by a Wright Cyclone radial engine. Several machines passed into private hands and to foreign users. Udet's strikingly painted aircraft is one of the best known civilian-operated examples of the type.
With a short-run kit we recommend careful cleanup of the parts and dry-fitting. Glue the joints with thin plastic cement; the struts and bracing of a biplane call for patience. The eye-catching color scheme comes out best over a primer and with airbrushed coverage; apply a gloss clear coat before the decals. Taut steel rigging wires add to the fidelity.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
