This is a pre-painted photo-etched instrument panel set in 1:72 scale from Yahu Models. It is not an aircraft kit but a finished color cockpit accessory that replaces the plastic instrument panel from the box. The panel is built up from several laminated photo-etched layers into a three-dimensional relief, and the dial faces are painted at the factory and given a gloss varnish that imitates the cover glass of the instruments. The set is intended for the plastic Do 215B-5 model from ICM.
It replaces the flat plastic instrument panel and gives the cockpit of the twin-engine Dornier fine, faithful detail without the drawn-out painting of instruments. The panel is degreased, shaped a little if needed, and bonded with super glue.
The Dornier Do 215 was a German twin-engine aircraft derived from the Do 17, originally intended for export and reconnaissance. The Do 215B-5 version was converted into a night fighter and intruder with a solid nose fitted with gun armament. The Luftwaffe deployed them in night defense and on raids over enemy territory.
This is an accessory (a photo-etched instrument panel), not an aircraft model. The base kit and glue are not included in the package.
