This set from the Polish firm Master contains precisely turned metal parts for sharpening a Dornier Do 335 A model in 1:72 scale. It includes the barrel of the MG 151 cannon, the underwing FuG 25a aerial and a pitot tube. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory with which you replace the coarser plastic parts of a kit bought separately.
The Do 335 Pfeil was one of the fastest piston aircraft of the Second World War, with an unconventional arrangement of two engines – one pulling with a propeller at the front, the other pushing with a propeller behind the tail. The A series was the basic fighter and bomber variant. The metal barrels and the fine aerial are prominent features on a model, and turned metal renders them more convincingly than plastic.
Cut off the plastic barrel, drill a hole in the remaining part and glue the metal piece in with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Fit the fine aerial and the pitot tube at the very end of the build so that they are not damaged. Metal holds its shape and takes sanding, polishing and painting.
This is an accessory, not a complete kit. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
