A plastic kit of the twin-engined Grumman F7F Tigercat carrier fighter in 1:72 scale, released in a package designated as 2 in 1.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Grumman F7F Tigercat was a twin-engined carrier fighter of American manufacture created at the close of the Second World War. It did not make it into the fighting then and found fame only in postwar service with the Marine Corps, where it became a fast and heavily armed machine for night operations and attacks on ground targets. Its layout with two radial engines and a high-set cockpit gives it a look unlike any other propeller fighter.
It is an injection-molded kit in 1:72 scale, supplied unassembled and unpainted. The package is listed as 2 in 1.
On a twin-engined aircraft it pays to spend time seating the engine nacelles, because their symmetry determines the final impression of the whole model. Dry-fit the wing and the nacelles and glue them section by section, so that room for correction remains. The nose landing gear leg tends to be loaded on this layout, so it is a good idea to check the need for nose weight in advance. The dark gloss finish of naval machines forgives little; thin, well covered coats serve best.
The set is for modelers who feel up to a twin-engined aircraft and want a less usual type. Paints, glue and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
